Updated 26th June 2008!
As a self-taught PHP developer I’m always looking to fiddle with stuff and make up stuff. I’ll attempt to maintain a little list here of what I’m doing with my spare time (i.e. stuff at home).
Simple Silver & Burgandy (download)
After a long time of using other people’s themes I’ve finally finished my own personal Wordpress theme. As you can see, it’s currently in use here. I couldn’t think of an inventive name for it, so Simple Silver and Burgandy will do for now. I’ll put the theme package up here when it’s totally finished, but I still have some small tweaking to do to make it absolutely ace.
Matched Ads (download)
A free open-source Matched.co.uk sidebar plug-in.
Feedburner Stats (download)
An extremely simple sidebar plug-in that retrieves the information from Feedburner’s AwAPI (Awareness API) and displays it in text format (displays subscribers, hits and reach).
del.icio.us Daily Digests
I think its a bit nasty and dirty the way I currently get my daily Link digests up. The posts also go into the wrong category. So I my aim is to create a plug-in similar to the way Twitter Tools works - overnight, use the del.icio.us API to get today’s links. If there are no links, ignore. If there are links, post them in the format specified by the plug-in’s settings (so user-customizable posts), and make sure the category works!
TC Mail
I’m making a new e-mail client, mainly for myself and Tom and Hannah. Based on the framework I started on TC WebHost 2, it is entirely OOP, but uses a huge amount of AJAX (but not too much to make it slow!) to be quick and smooth and good-looking. Plan to integrate Google Mail, Calender, Contacts etc.
TC WebHost 2 - see progress here
Slight change of plan on this - I’ve made the TC website, and it’s based on the new OOP framework I made, but I’ll leave the Virtual server stuff to Webmin - much simpler! Now concentrating just on TC Mail (see above). I’m also making it totally XHTML 1.0 compliant, which so far it is.
Talisman Online RPG (on hold)
This has sort of fallen by the wayside at the moment, but this is a web-based online role-playing game based on Games Workshop/Black Industries board game Talisman.
